EMF Radiation Effects on Children

Posted by Emf Protection Store on

Is EMF radiation dangerous for kids?  As a parent, you would probably be concerned if your child was exposed to gasoline fumes, chloroform or lead. But perhaps because electromagnetic emissions are invisible and odorless, we tend to pay less attention to it, even though electromagnetic radiation is, according to World Health Organization, in the same category of toxins like lead, exhaust fumes and chloroform. What do we know so far on physical and psychological consequences children suffer when exposed to RF/MW (radio frequency/microwave) emissions from modern technology?

It’s a fact: children do absorb more EMF radiation than adults

So, why do kids absorb more EMFs than adults? It’s because their skulls are thinner and their brain tissue is less resistant and contains more fluid; therefore it’s more absorbent to toxic influences. Kids are generally under higher risk if they are exposed to any kind of toxin or carcinogen, including electro-magnetic emissions.

The photo above from professor’s Om P Gandhi, (University of Utah) research on current underestimation of cell phone radiation’s exposure limits, especially in children shows how much deeper EM waves penetrate the scull of child in compare to scull of an adult.

Negative physical consequences of EMF radiation on children

Cancer. At this point, most of studies about correlation between EMF and cancer in children are in ongoing process (i.e. SCUMP study - www.scampstudy.org). This is mostly because the long latency time from the beginning of exposure to cancer diagnosis. It can take years, even decades. Studies did show that adults who were exposed to cordless phones from early teen ages were 8 times more likely to develop brain cancer later in life. Also, many studies did correlate brain cancer in adults with as little as 30 min of phone calls a day for a period of 10 years.

Neurotoxic consequences. NIH study from 2011 showed that only 50 minutes of WIFi device placed close to head changes natural biochemical balance of the brain and increases glucose levels in part of the brain closest to device.

Formation of free radicals which damage tissue. This is called oxidative stress and WiFi increases it. Increased free radicals and peroxides lead to DNA fragmentation and its structural break, causing variety of diseases, including Alzheimer’s and cancer.

Damage of endocrine system. Electromagnetic radiation affects adrenal, thyroid and pineal glands which produce hormones regulating brain maturation, sleep, blood pressure etc.

Negative psychological and behavioral consequences of EMF radiation on children

Sleep disorders. Problem with sleeping are peaking among kids and teens as never before in history. EM waves are delaying brain’s natural cycle of getting into REM phase of sleep. Sleep deprived kids have problems with memory, attention and ability to learn new information.

ADHD. There is some research evidence of more instances of kids with ADHD if their mothers were exposed to wireless technology or laptop radiation during pregnancy.

Kids get addicted to technology easier than adults. Addiction to technology changes children’s behavior significantly; they’re unable to think and talk about anything else but their favorite game/gadget, have poor ability to learn, become aggressive, argumentative and agitated if separated from their device (suffer true withdrawal syndromes); lie and hide how much time they spend online which creates a whole new set of distrust issues in family. Remember, electronic gadgets are radio waves transmitters, although they look like toys

Cell phones, iPads, smart-phones, laptops and variety of other actual toys made specifically for kids use wireless technology. The use of such gadgets and toys should be very closely monitored, so your child gets a fair chance to grow up into a happy and healthy adult
